Knob:

The knob is usually inserted into the space between the drawer or the door.

These rollers have wheels underneath, and these wheels can be made of plastic or steel. The rollers are fixed in a particular groove by screws firmly attached to the wood and move through this groove. And the groove in which the roller is stuck is called the rail. It can be wood or steel, or plastic. Rails of different sizes are available. The rail has to be taken according to the size of the roller.

Hinges:

A. Simple Hinges

There are many other types of butt hinges, including loose pin hinges with two pinheads protruding outwards. These loose pin hinges are commonly used on doors.

T-hinges

T-hinges: It looks like the English letter “T”. The use of this hinge is similar to that of the strap hinge. One of its leaves looks like a hinge, but many times it looks like a strap hinge. It is usually made of iron galvanized iron.


Rules for installing hinges:

The big door should have three corners. A door is divided into three parts, and the door is closed according to the following rules.

  • The upper hinge should be placed below the top frame of the door frame, i.e., 128 mm (5 “) below the top edge of the door jumbo rebate.
  • The bottom hinge should be placed 254 mm (10 “) above the flat floor.
  • The third hinge should be placed in the central place evenly between the upper and lower hinges.

The chart below shows a sample of how large and wide the hinges should be on a door. Measurements are made according to the length of the hinge. This chart gives both centimeter and inch sizes.

Woodworking bolts:

Bolts are a reliable connection product for woodworking joints. Bolts make it easy to attach wood and metal to any other material. Bolts usually look like screws but are not as sharp as screw points. The head of the bolt is flat or round. The threaded head of the bolt is to be fastened through the nut.

The joint becomes stronger and stiffer when attached to the bolt by a washer (rubber or iron). Wooden screw threads are not like bolt threads. Special thread cutting machines are used to cut the threads of the bolts. Bolts are usually of different lengths and diameters, and bolts have to be selected to suit the work. Bolts are typically made of iron, steel, etc. Different types of bolts are used for woodwork. Below is a list of them.

The head of these bolts is flat head and round head like screw head, but its points are not as sharp as the screw. These bolts are small in size, usually 10 mm to 150 m (3 “/ 6 to 8) long and 4 mm to 13 mm (1” / 6 to 1 “/ 2) in diameter. A screwdriver and square knot Are used.

Expansion bolts: These bolts are used primarily in brick, stone, and concrete. It has two parts, one leg screw, and the other shield. The shield is a slip and a cast-iron cylinder attached and threaded inside, which is screwed with a leg screw. Holes are first made between bricks, stones, concrete, then split and then tightened by leg screw ranges. Holes made in bricks, stones, or concrete are made according to the cylinder split’s size. Later, when the leg screw is inserted, it slowly starts to split and sticks tightly with the brick, stone, or concrete.


Toggle bolts: These bolts are used to attach or attach to metal or any other metal with wood. It is similar to a stove bolt but has two specially shaped nuts. A nut bolt is attached to the head like a cap, helping to hold wood or metal in place. First, the bolt is inserted into the hole then the bolt is fastened tightly by the nut.


Hasp:

Hasp has two parts. The heavy wire with a square plate is attached to one leaf of the hinge, and the other is a small leaf with a screw hole that is used to attach it to the wood. One leaf is fastened by screws, and the other is a ring leaf which is screwed with another wood. And the other leaf on that ring is left and locked by the lock. It is usually used in boxes, cupboards, etc.


Staple:

It is a type of pin-shaped nail with sharp edges on both sides. It is made of steel and is available in different sizes. These staples look a lot like the English letter U. A nail special is especially useful in wood for attaching the two ends of the wood together. These staples are available in different series, such as- the L and M series.
